Latest reviews of FSXSuite app for iPhone and iPad
Current version does not start on ios9
I had multiple issues all around. FYI, I am running FSX steam edition I had to restart the PC client a few times after exiting FSX in order for it to see that FSX was running after I had opened FSX again.. In the FSX suite App, you see a list of the apps in the suite. You can swipe left and delete them without anyway of of re adding them. I deleted everything on the list including the manual and feedback buttons and was left with a blank list that I could not reset. I had to delete and then install the app from the App Store so that I could get a list again. The Map part of it shows your plane on the map (assuming that it was able to successfully connect to the session) but there are no controls in the map like it shows in the screenshot. You cant switch to satellite view, the options to track the airplane arent there, its nothing more than the map with an airplane on it that shows where it has flown. Pinch to zoom doesnt work. You have to tap the screen multiple times before it will zoom, but that doesnt work right either. It jumps around and the plane sometimes moves to random points before snapping back to its course. There are also random red pins that appear. I think those are airports and navaids but I cant get it to zoom so I cant tell. There are literally no buttons to control the map. It doesnt match the screen shot. It looks like the map function uses Apple Maps as its data source. Bottom line: the map in the app doesnt match the screenshots in the App Store. Feedback button doesnt allow you to send the developers an email. It takes you to the website where this supposed to be a contact form that you can fill out. The contact form doesnt load. I see HTML code that says there is supposed to be a form but there is no form. The terrain view isnt very useful since there is no key explaining what the colors mean. There is also no way to zoom out. The profile view isnt very useful since the app refresh rate is slow The radar and WX radar were just green circles with nothing drawn on them. Recommend feature: Allow the app to connect via local IP address to the PC client for those of us who want real time flight following. The delay in the app makes it very difficult to use the map for flight following since it is so slow. I understand that this is a version 1.0 release but this is a paid product and should work better. This feels like an early test release that is not completed yet.
